Chinese have been carving calligraphies on cliffs and mountainsides for thousands of years. One might think that this tradition has been long gone. Well, to me, it has never gone away. The Chinese still love to carve or hang their calligraphies high up! Look at this building in Wanchai. (And there are many more in North Point and Nathan Road.)

摩崖已有最少兩千多年,字面意思就是用手把東西印在山崖上,東西當然指書法。今時今日恐怕沒有幾人會去摩崖,但我覺得這個把書法印在高處的傳統一直留在漢人的骨子裏。你看看這棟在灣仔的舊樓,不就是一幅幅美麗的摩崖!
